Source citations show English titles in Arabic interface
Category: Bugs Priority: P3 Severity: minor Area: localization Reports: 2 threads Status: Open
Summary
Two users on the Arabic interface report that cited sources are not shown in Arabic. One reports that when tapping a source, the original Arabic book titles "do not always work correctly": they persistently appear in English and only occasionally, seemingly by chance, revert to Arabic — a precision problem for research, in his words. The other reports flatly that the sources are not in Arabic, and adds a second rendering bug: the source popup is displayed out of place, sitting on top of the answer text and covering it. Source-metadata localization is inconsistent, and the citation popup has a positioning/overlap defect. Abdellatif replied to both promising fixes, and in the second thread explicitly agreed to show book names in Arabic.

Subject: "العربية تحتاج اهتاما منكم" (Arabic needs attention from you). One-line report combining both problems: non-Arabic sources and a mispositioned popup covering the text. Abdellatif replied "سنقوم باصلاحها ان شاء الله" (We will fix it insha'Allah).
المصادر ليست بالعربية وعرضها ليس في مكان فهو فوق النص ويغطيه
The sources are not in Arabic, and their display is out of place — it sits on top of the text and covers it.

In a longer thank-you email (which also suggests making Arabic the app's default language — tracked separately as a feature request), Homam flags that with the Arabic interface selected, the original Arabic book names shown "when tapping the source" don't always work correctly: they show in English continuously, then by chance flip back to Arabic. Abdellatif agreed: "نعم، أطفق على اظهار اسم الكتب باللغة العربية. سأقوم بها ان شاء الله" (Yes, agreed on showing book names in Arabic. I will do it insha'Allah).
I would also like to flag a second point: the need to show the original book names in Arabic "when tapping the source", when Arabic is chosen for the interface. This is a matter of research and precision, because it does not always work correctly — it happens that they appear in English continuously, then by chance go back to appearing in Arabic again.
Details / repro
- Condition: Arabic interface selected
- Symptom 1: book titles in source citations display in English; intermittent — occasionally reverts to Arabic (suggests a race or inconsistent localization of source metadata rather than missing translations)
- Symptom 2 (thread
1a0013aa61bfde65): source popup rendered on top of the answer text, covering it (positioning bug) - No device/OS captured in either thread
