Open 'Continue Reading' source link in a new tab
Category: Feature request Priority: P3 Area: Web app Reports: 1 thread Status: Open
Summary
A web user from Kabul University, Afghanistan reports that the "Continue Reading" button in the sidebar's source-information panel navigates the current page away to the source, losing the main AI response the user was reading. He asks that it open in a new tab or window instead so the answer stays on screen while the source is consulted. He included a screenshot of the UI. Abdellatif replied that he will work on fixing it, and noted Qaf now has many users from Afghanistan.

Could you please update the "Continue Reading" button in the sidebar's source information to open in a new tab or window? Currently, clicking it navigates away from the page, and it would be helpful to keep from losing the main AI responses.

Details / repro
- Surface: web app — the source-information panel in the sidebar.
- Repro: open an AI response, open the sidebar's source info, click "Continue Reading" — the browser navigates away from the conversation and the main AI response is lost.
- The email included an inline screenshot (
image.png) of the button/panel. - Fix suggestion from the user:
target="_blank"-style behavior (new tab or window). Alternatively, preserving conversation state on back-navigation would address the underlying loss.
