Expand the trusted source/content library

Summary

Nine threads ask Qaf to grow its corpus beyond Al-Maktaba Al-Shamela (currently ingested via app.turath.io). Users name concrete sources: the Al-Jame' platform (aljam3.com — 63,000 free books across three libraries, requested independently by two users), the King Abdullah Complex for the Prophetic Sunnah (alifta.net, prized for its hadith takhrij), worldwide Fiqh Council declarations for contemporary issues, IslamQA/IslamWeb and the works of Ibn Baz, Ibn Uthaymeen, Ibn Taymiyyah and al-Albani, Ibn al-Qayyim's al-Turuq al-Hukmiyya, South Asian texts such as Tafheem ul Quran, the complete works of Allama Naser Sobhani (duplicate Farsi emails, with book files offered), and Shia sources plus academic databases gated behind a "research" mode. The shared theme: broader coverage of Islamic scholarship is the core value driver — one master's researcher says Qaf unblocked a thesis he'd been stuck on for four years. Abdellatif's replies consistently confirm Qaf is Shamela-only today, that the 3-person team is resource-constrained, and that corpus expansion is a long-term goal.

Ever consider pooling in Fiqh Council declarations from around the world? That would certainly assist researchers in contemporary issues not found in the older works of AlShamela.

For four years I was researching my master's topic in Islamic creed and had not written a single letter ... I suggest you add the Al-Jame' platform: it has 63 thousand books, is broader than Al-Shamela, and comprises three libraries. (from the subject line)

Proposal to add and index the works, tafsirs, and Quranic writings of Allama Naser Sobhani in the Qaf platform ... declaring readiness to send the files of the teacher's books.

Kindly order the necessary review to collect, digitally compile, and add the works of this Quranic thinker and reformer to Qaf's specialized library in upcoming updates.

We want the book al-Turuq al-Hukmiyya fi al-Siyasa al-Shar'iyya by Ibn al-Qayyim added, out of utmost necessity — because of the importance of this great fiqh reference, and it is small in size.

Abu Muhammad (أبو محمد) — hdhd14331433@gmail.com

Please add more sources, including the IslamQA site, IslamWeb, and the sites of Ibn Baz, Ibn Uthaymeen, Ibn Taymiyyah and al-Albani — search out every trusted source and add them.

Khaled al-Jarbou (خالد الجربوع) — khaled07888@gmail.com

As an improvement I recommend linking the data of the Aljam3 site — the largest site for Islamic scholarly, linguistic, and natural-science books ... it has 63 thousand free books. I also suggest benefiting from the King Abdullah Complex for the Purified Sunnah site, the best site serving the Prophetic Sunnah, one of whose merits is hadith takhrij.

Alfaisal Al Churaikhi — aalchura@gmu.edu

if it is possible to discuss adding Shia sources to the app so that Qaf becomes a comprehensive one stop shop for all Islamic knowledge. I think it would be also really interesting to pull in some academic databases into the mix ... Maybe those two facets can be accessed via a "research" feature only so as to not confuse the general user.

Musa Ilyas — musa.ilyas641@gmail.com

I noticed that some south asian texts like Tafheem ul Quran by Maulana Maududi are missing from your texts collections. It would be great if you can add them as well.
