Upload personal files (Word/PDF) for analysis and search

Category: Feature request Priority: P2 Area: ai-chat Reports: 3 Status: Open

Summary

Three users independently ask to bring their own documents into Qaf. One collected quotations in a Word file and actually tried to upload it in the app but could not, and asked whether the feature exists at all. Another asks whether he can add his own PDF books and search inside them. A third wants general file upload (his concrete use case: an Islamic mortgage contract for the AI to analyze) — image upload already works on the web via the plus button, but arbitrary files do not. Abdellatif has told all three that personal-document upload is planned ("we'll work on this feature soon insha'Allah"), so this cluster is a confirmed roadmap item with clear demand from both Arabic- and English-speaking users.

What users say

عبد الله بن عبد العزيز الفالح — alfaleh1@hotmail.com

Collected quotations in a Word document, tried to upload it into the app and failed; asks whether the feature exists. Also asked whether there is a website that can replace the app (Abdellatif answered: yes, qaf.ai; Word upload not available yet but coming soon).

جمعت نقولات في ملف وورد وأردت رفعها في البرنامج فلم أستطع هل هذه الميزة موجودة

I collected quotations in a Word file and wanted to upload it in the app but I couldn't. Does this feature exist?

عبد العزيز الحقباني — www.1.com.sa@gmail.com

Praises the effort and asks whether he can add his own PDF books to Qaf and search within them. Abdellatif replied: not yet, but the feature is planned soon.

جهد جميل وجبار هل يمكنني اضافة كتب pdf والبحص فيها؟

A beautiful and tremendous effort. Can I add PDF books and search within them?

S Akram — sirajakram25@gmail.com

After asking about the AI's sources (answer: Almaktaba Alshamela, qaf.ai/sources), he suggested letting users upload files. When asked what type, he said an Islamic mortgage contract. Abdellatif pointed him to image upload on the web (plus button, coming to mobile soon), but the user reiterated he also wants general file upload. He additionally asked for an option to hide certain authors from results (currently only filtering by author is possible, no hiding).

One small thing that could be improved, users being able to upload files and the likes

Follow-up specifying the use case:

a contract for an islamic mortgage
