Localize citation names and entity/hadith info cards to app language

Category: Feature request Priority: P2 Area: Localization / AI answers Reports: 3 threads (2 distinct users) Status: Open

Summary

Two users report that even when the app language and content are fully Arabic, several UI elements still render in English: the inline names of cited sources, the big book-title header shown when a citation is tapped, and the info cards that pop up when tapping underlined entities (scholars, hadith narrators, books) or underlined hadiths (matn, sanad, takhrij). They ask that these follow the app language, or that a display-language option be added, so the experience is fully Arabic for researchers and readers. Progress is partially confirmed: in mohamed said chakir's follow-up, entity cards for scholars, narrators, and biographies now work in Arabic, but hadith cards still render in English — Abdellatif acknowledged it as a known issue with a fix targeted "within two weeks" (as of 2026-08-16). Youssef El Geddawy attached screenshots of the English citation names in an Arabic app.

Just a small feature request (QoL): the name of the sources cited should be in the same language as the app language itself. I'm talking about the inline source name and the big header (name of the book) when you click on it (see photos). For example (see photos), my app language is Arabic, and the citation names should be in Arabic as well!

When clicking the underlined words (entities such as names of scholars, hadith narrators, and books), the info cards and short bios appear in English, while the main content and search are in Arabic. Please consider making these cards and bios available in Arabic, or provide an option to choose the display language.

The operation succeeded for the scholars, hadith narrators, and biographies, but when clicking the underlined hadiths, the hadith info cards — text, chain, and sourcing — appear in English while the main content and search are in Arabic.
